Panchabhuta
ECO RESORT
Beach Resort & Interiors | Nirvana Beach
(Kumta)
A project that lies at the very heart of our journey, the Panchabhuta Conservation Foundation is an exploration of rewilding—a conscious effort to bring the untamed rhythm of nature back into our lives. Our journey began with the revival of an existing NGO, evolving it into a boutique eco-resort that generates sustainable income through local tours and the sale of artisanal goods like kokum butter and natural soaps.

The Poetry of the Fossil Slab
In our quest to push the boundaries of natural materials, we pioneered the Bamboo Imprint Slab, a creative vision that explores construction possibilities with indigenous fibers.
Innovative Texture: By using locally sourced bamboo as scaffolding under our slabs, we created a "fossil" texture that celebrates organic geometry. This technique significantly reduced the volume of concrete required.
Rustic Luxury: The design language pairs these raw structural elements with refined "rustic luxury," creating spaces that feel high-end yet deeply grounded in the earth.
Born of Necessity, Crafted with Love
Developed during the pandemic, Panchabhuta is a testament to the power of the "ultra-local."
Vicinity Materials: Every element, from the thatch roofing to the glass bottle masonry, was sourced from the immediate beach town landscape.
Living Masonry: In the bathrooms, we integrated glass bottles into the masonry, creating walls that glow with soft, diffused light.
Reviving Livelihoods: We worked hand-in-hand with local craftsmen, training them in specialized techniques like oxide plaster and thatched roof construction to revitalize native building practices.
